 2:1 ¶
Wherefore did the heathen rage, and the nations imagine vain things? |
|
 2:1 ¶
Whyº
do the heathenº
rage,ºº
and the peopleº
imagineºº
a vain thing?º |
 2:2
The kings of the earth stood up, and the rulers gathered themselves together, against the Lord, and against his Anointed{gr.Christ}; |
|
 2:2
The kingsº
of the earthº
setºº
themselves,º
and the rulersºº
take counselºº
together,º
againstº
Yahweh,º
and againstº
his anointed,º
[saying], |
 2:3
[saying], Let us break through their bonds, and cast away their yoke from us. |
|
 2:3
Let us breakºº
their bandsº
asunder,ºººº
and cast awayºº
their cordsº
fromº
us. |
 2:4
He that dwells in the heavens shall laugh them to scorn, and the Lord shall mock them. |
|
 2:4
He that sittethºº
in the heavensº
shall laugh:ºº
Yahwehº
shall have them in derision.ºº |
 2:5
Then shall he speak to them in his anger, and trouble them in his fury. |
|
 2:5
Thenº
shall he speakºº
untoº
them in his wrath,º
and vexºº
them in his sore displeasure.º |
 2:6
But I have been made king by him on Zion{gr.Sion} his holy mountain, |
|
 2:6
Yet have Iº
setºº
my kingº
uponº
my holyº
hillº
of Zion.º |
 2:7
declaring the ordinance of the Lord: the Lord said to me, Thou art my Son, to-day have I begotten thee. |
|
 2:7
I will declareººº
the decree:º
Yahwehº
hath saidºº
untoº
me, Thouº
[art] my Son;º
this dayº
have Iº
begottenºº
thee. |
 2:8
Ask of me, and I will give thee the heathen [for] thine inheritance, and the ends of the earth [for] thy possession. |
|
 2:8
Askºº
ofº
me, and I shall giveºº
[thee] the heathenº
[for] thine inheritance,º
and the uttermost partsº
of the earthº
[for] thy possession.º |
 2:9
Thou shalt rule them with a rod of iron; thou shalt dash them in pieces as a potter's vessel. |
|
 2:9
Thou shalt breakºº
them with a rodº
of iron;º
thou shalt dash them in piecesºº
like a potter'sºº
vessel.º |
 2:10
Now therefore understand, ye kings: be instructed, all ye that judge the earth. |
|
 2:10
Be wiseºº
nowº
therefore, O ye kings:º
be instructed,ºº
ye judgesºº
of the earth.º |
 2:11
Serve the Lord with fear, and rejoice in him with trembling. |
|
 2:11
Serveººº
Yahwehº
with fear,º
and rejoiceºº
with trembling.º |
 2:12
Accept correction, lest at any time the Lord be angry, and ye should perish from the righteous way: whensoever his wrath shall be suddenly kindled, blessed are all they that trust in him. |
|
 2:12
Kissºº
the Son,º
lestº
he be angry,ºº
and ye perishºº
[from] the way,º
whenº
his wrathº
is kindledºº
but a little.º
Blessedº
[are] allº
they that put their trustºº
in him. |
