And there shall come forthºº
a rodº
out of the stemºº
of
Yišay
יִשַׁי,º
and a Branchº
shall growºº
out of his roots:ºº |

And there shall come forth a rod out of the stem of Yishay, and a Branch shall grow out of his roots: |
|
11:2
And the spiritº
of
Yähwè
יָהוֶהº
shall restºº
uponº
him, the spiritº
of wisdomº
and understanding,º
the spiritº
of counselº
and might,º
the spiritº
of knowledgeº
and of the fearº
of
Yähwè
יָהוֶה;º |
|
11:2
And the spirit of Yahweh shall rest upon him, the spirit of wisdom and understanding, the spirit of counsel and might, the spirit of knowledge and of the fear of Yahweh; |

11:3
And shall make him of quick understandingºº
in the fearº
of
Yähwè
יָהוֶה:º
and he shall notº
judgeºº
after the sightº
of his eyes,º
neitherº
reproveºº
after the hearingº
of his ears:º |
|
11:3
And shall make him of quick understanding in the fear of Yahweh: and he shall not judge after the sight of his eyes, neither reprove after the hearing of his ears: |
|
11:4
But with righteousnessº
shall he judgeºº
the poor,º
and reproveºº
with equityº
for the meekº
of the earth:º
and he shall smiteºº
the earthº
with the rodº
of his mouth,º
and with the breathº
of his lipsº
shall he slayºº
the wicked.º |

11:4
But with righteousness shall he judge the poor, and reprove with equity for the meek of the earth: and he shall smite the earth with the rod of his mouth, and with the breath of his lips shall he slay the wicked. |

11:5
And righteousnessº
shall beº
the girdleº
of his loins,º
and faithfulnessº
the girdleº
of his reins.º |
|
11:5
And righteousness shall be the girdle of his loins, and faithfulness the girdle of his reins. |
|
11:6
The wolfº
also shall dwellºº
withº
the lamb,º
and the leopardº
shall lie downºº
withº
the kid;º
and the calfº
and the young lionº
and the fatlingº
together;º
and a littleº
childº
shall leadºº
them. |
|
11:6
The wolf also shall dwell with the lamb, and the leopard shall lie down with the kid; and the calf and the young lion and the fatling together; and a little child shall lead them. |
|
11:7
And the cowº
and the bearº
shall feed;ºº
their young onesº
shall lie downºº
together:º
and the lionº
shall eatºº
strawº
like the ox.º |

11:7
And the cow and the bear shall feed; their young ones shall lie down together: and the lion shall eat straw like the ox. |

11:8
And the suckingº
childºº
shall playºº
onº
the holeº
of the asp,º
and the weaned childºº
shall putºº
his handº
onº
the cockatrice'º
den.º |

11:8
And the sucking child shall play on the hole of the asp, and the weaned child shall put his hand on the cockatrice' den. |

11:9
They shall notº
hurtºº
norº
destroyºº
in allº
my holyº
mountain:º
forº
the earthº
shall be fullºº
of the knowledgeº
ofº
Yähwè
יָהוֶה,º
as the watersº
coverºº
the sea.º |

11:9
They shall not hurt nor destroy in all my holy mountain: for the earth shall be full of the knowledge of Yahweh, as the waters cover the sea. |
|
11:10 ¶
And in thatº
dayº
there shall beº
a rootº
of
Yišay
יִשַׁי,º
whichº
shall standºº
for an ensignº
of the people;º
toº
it shall the Gentilesº
seek:ºº
and his restº
shall beº
glorious.º |

11:10 ¶
And in that day there shall be a root of Yishay, which shall stand for an ensign of the people; to it shall the Gentiles seek: and his rest shall be glorious. |

11:11
And it shall come to passº
in thatº
day,º
[that]
Yähwè
יָהוֶהº
shall setºº
his handº
againºº
the second timeº
to recoverººº
the remnantº
of his people,º
whichº
shall be left,ºº
from
´Aššûr
אַשּׁוּר,ºº
and from
Mixrayim
מִצרַיִם,ºº
and from
Pa±rôs
פַּתרוֹס,ºº
and from
Cûš
כּוּשׁ,ºº
and from
`Êläm
עֵילָם,ºº
and from
Šin`är
שִׁנעָר,ºº
and from
Çámä±
חֲמָת,ºº
and from the islandsºº
of the sea.º |

11:11
And it shall come to pass in that day, [that] Yahweh shall set his hand again the second time to recover the remnant of his people, which shall be left, from Ashshur, and from Mitzrayim, and from Pathros, and from Kush, and from Elam, and from Shinar, and from Chamath, and from the islands of the sea. |
|
11:12
And he shall set upºº
an ensignº
for the nations,º
and shall assembleºº
the outcastsººº
of
Yi$rä´ël
יִשׂרָאֵל,º
and gather togetherºº
the dispersedºº
of
Yæhûðà
יְהוּדָהº
from the fourºº
cornersº
of the earth.º |

11:12
And he shall set up an ensign for the nations, and shall assemble the outcasts of Yisrael, and gather together the dispersed of Yehudah from the four corners of the earth. |
|
11:13
The envyº
also of
´Efrayim
אֶפרַיִםº
shall depart,ºº
and the adversariesºº
of
Yæhûðà
יְהוּדָהº
shall be cut off:ºº
´Efrayim
אֶפרַיִםº
shall notº
envyººº
Yæhûðà
יְהוּדָה,º
and
Yæhûðà
יְהוּדָהº
shall notº
vexººº
´Efrayim
אֶפרַיִם.º |

11:13
The envy also of Efrayim shall depart, and the adversaries of Yehudah shall be cut off: Efrayim shall not envy Yehudah, and Yehudah shall not vex Efrayim. |

11:14
But they shall flyºº
upon the shouldersº
of the
Pælištîm
פְּלִשׁתִּיםº
toward the west;º
they shall spoilººº
themº
of the eastº
together:º
they shall layº
their handº
upon
´Éðôm
אֱדוֹםº
and
Mô´äv
מוֹאָב;º
and the childrenº
of
`Ammôn
עַמּוֹןº
shall obeyº
them. |

11:14
But they shall fly upon the shoulders of the Pelishtim toward the west; they shall spoil them of the east together: they shall lay their hand upon Edom and Moav; and the children of Ammon shall obey them. |
|
11:15
And
Yähwè
יָהוֶהº
shall utterly destroyººº
the tongueº
of the
Mixrî
מִצרִיº
sea;º
and with his mightyº
windº
shall he shakeºº
his handº
overº
the river,º
and shall smiteºº
it in the sevenº
streams,º
and make [men] go overºº
dryshod.º |

11:15
And Yahweh shall utterly destroy the tongue of the Mitzri sea; and with his mighty wind shall he shake his hand over the river, and shall smite it in the seven streams, and make [men] go over dryshod. |
|
11:16
And there shall beº
an highwayº
for the remnantº
of his people,º
whichº
shall be left,ºº
from
´Aššûr
אַשּׁוּר;ºº
like asº
it wasº
to
Yi$rä´ël
יִשׂרָאֵלº
in the dayº
that he came upºº
out of the landºº
of
Mixrayim
מִצרַיִם.º |

11:16
And there shall be an highway for the remnant of his people, which shall be left, from Ashshur; like as it was to Yisrael in the day that he came up out of the land of Mitzrayim. |
