2:1 ¶
The word that Yeshayah the son of Amotz saw concerning Yehudah and Yerushalaim. |
|
2:2
And it shall come to passº
in the lastº
days,º
[that] the mountainº
of
Yähwè's
יָהוֶהº
houseº
shall beº
establishedºº
in the topº
of the mountains,º
and shall be exaltedºº
above the hills;ºº
and allº
nationsº
shall flowºº
untoº
it. |

2:2
And it shall come to pass in the last days, [that] the mountain of Yahweh's house shall be established in the top of the mountains, and shall be exalted above the hills; and all nations shall flow unto it. |
|
2:3
And manyº
peopleº
shall goºº
and say,ºº
Comeººº
ye, and let us go upºº
toº
the mountainº
of
Yähwè
יָהוֶה,º
toº
the houseº
of the
´Élöhîm
אֱלֹהִיםº
of
Ya`áköv
יַעֲקֹב;º
and he will teachºº
us of his ways,ºº
and we will walkººº
in his paths:º
forº
out of
Xiyyôn
צִיּוֹןºº
shall go forthºº
the law,º
and the wordº
of
Yähwè
יָהוֶהº
from
Yærûšälaim
יְרוּשָׁלִַם.ºº |

2:3
And many people shall go and say, Come ye, and let us go up to the mountain of Yahweh, to the house of the Elohim of Yaaqov; and he will teach us of his ways, and we will walk in his paths: for out of Tziyyon shall go forth the law, and the word of Yahweh from Yerushalaim. |

2:4
And he shall judgeºº
amongº
the nations,º
and shall rebukeºº
manyº
people:º
and they shall beatºº
their swordsº
into plowshares,º
and their spearsº
into pruninghooks:º
nationº
shall notº
lift upºº
swordº
againstº
nation,º
neitherº
shall they learnºº
warº
any more.º |

2:4
And he shall judge among the nations, and shall rebuke many people: and they shall beat their swords into plowshares, and their spears into pruninghooks: nation shall not lift up sword against nation, neither shall they learn war any more. |

O houseº
of
Ya`áköv
יַעֲקֹב,º
comeººº
ye, and let us walkººº
in the lightº
of
Yähwè
יָהוֶה.º |
|
2:5
O house of Yaaqov, come ye, and let us walk in the light of Yahweh. |
|
2:6 ¶
Thereforeº
thou hast forsakenºº
thy peopleº
the houseº
of
Ya`áköv
יַעֲקֹב,º
becauseº
they be replenishedºº
from the east,ºº
and [are] soothsayersºº
like the
Pælištîm
פְּלִשׁתִּים,º
and they pleaseºº
themselvesº
in the childrenº
of strangers.º |

2:6 ¶
Therefore thou hast forsaken thy people the house of Yaaqov, because they be replenished from the east, and [are] soothsayers like the Pelishtim, and they please themselves in the children of strangers. |
|
2:7
Their landº
also is fullºº
of silverº
and gold,º
neitherº
[is there any] endº
of their treasures;º
their landº
is also fullºº
of horses,º
neitherº
[is there any] endº
of their chariots:º |

2:7
Their land also is full of silver and gold, neither [is there any] end of their treasures; their land is also full of horses, neither [is there any] end of their chariots: |
|
2:8
Their landº
also is fullºº
of idols;º
they worshipºº
the workº
of their own hands,º
that whichº
their own fingersº
have made:ºº |
|
2:8
Their land also is full of idols; they worship the work of their own hands, that which their own fingers have made: |
|
2:9
And the mean manº
boweth down,ºº
and the great manº
humblethºº
himself: therefore forgiveºº
them not.º |

2:9
And the mean man boweth down, and the great man humbleth himself: therefore forgive them not. |
|
2:10 ¶
Enterºº
into the rock,º
and hideºº
thee in the dust,º
forºº
fearº
of
Yähwè
יָהוֶה,º
and for the gloryºº
of his majesty.º |
|
2:10 ¶
Enter into the rock, and hide thee in the dust, for fear of Yahweh, and for the glory of his majesty. |
|
2:11
The loftyº
looksº
of manº
shall be humbled,ºº
and the haughtinessº
of menºº
shall be bowed down,ºº
and
Yähwè
יָהוֶהº
aloneº
shall be exaltedºº
in thatº
day.º |
|
2:11
The lofty looks of man shall be humbled, and the haughtiness of men shall be bowed down, and Yahweh alone shall be exalted in that day. |
|
2:12
Forº
the dayº
of
Yähwè
יָהוֶהº
Xævä´ô±
צְבָאוֹתº
[shall be] uponº
everyº
[one that is] proudº
and lofty,ºº
and uponº
everyº
[one that is] lifted up;ºº
and he shall be brought low:ºº |

For the day of Yahweh Tzevaoth [shall be] upon every [one that is] proud and lofty, and upon every [one that is] lifted up; and he shall be brought low: |
|
2:13
And uponº
allº
the cedarsº
of
Lævänôn
לְבָנוֹן,º
[that are] highºº
and lifted up,ºº
and uponº
allº
the oaksº
of
Bäšän
בָּשָׁן,º |

2:13
And upon all the cedars of Levanon, [that are] high and lifted up, and upon all the oaks of Bashan, |
|
2:14
And uponº
allº
the highºº
mountains,º
and uponº
allº
the hillsº
[that are] lifted up,ºº |
|
2:14
And upon all the high mountains, and upon all the hills [that are] lifted up, |
|
2:15
And uponº
everyº
highº
tower,º
and uponº
everyº
fencedºº
wall,º |

2:15
And upon every high tower, and upon every fenced wall, |
|
2:16
And uponº
allº
the shipsº
of
Taršîš
תַּרשִׁישׁ,º
and uponº
allº
pleasantº
pictures.º |

2:16
And upon all the ships of Tarshish, and upon all pleasant pictures. |
|
2:17
And the loftinessº
of manº
shall be bowed down,ºº
and the haughtinessº
of menºº
shall be made low:ºº
and
Yähwè
יָהוֶהº
aloneº
shall be exaltedºº
in thatº
day.º |

And the loftiness of man shall be bowed down, and the haughtiness of men shall be made low: and Yahweh alone shall be exalted in that day. |

And the idolsº
he shall utterlyº
abolish.ºº |
|
2:18
And the idols he shall utterly abolish. |
|
2:19
And they shall goºº
into the holesº
of the rocks,º
and into the cavesº
of the earth,º
forºº
fearº
of
Yähwè
יָהוֶה,º
and for the gloryºº
of his majesty,º
when he arisethºº
to shake terriblyºº
the earth.º |
|
2:19
And they shall go into the holes of the rocks, and into the caves of the earth, for fear of Yahweh, and for the glory of his majesty, when he ariseth to shake terribly the earth. |
|
2:20
In thatº
dayº
a manº
shall castººº
his idolsº
of silver,º
and his idolsº
of gold,º
whichº
they madeº
[each one] for himselfºº
to worship,ºº
to the molesºº
and to the bats;º |
|
2:20
In that day a man shall cast his idols of silver, and his idols of gold, which they made [each one] for himself to worship, to the moles and to the bats; |

2:21
To goºº
into the cleftsº
of the rocks,º
and into the topsº
of the ragged rocks,º
forºº
fearº
of
Yähwè
יָהוֶה,º
and for the gloryºº
of his majesty,º
when he arisethºº
to shake terriblyºº
the earth.º |

2:21
To go into the clefts of the rocks, and into the tops of the ragged rocks, for fear of Yahweh, and for the glory of his majesty, when he ariseth to shake terribly the earth. |
|
2:22
Ceaseºº
ye fromº
man,º
whoseº
breathº
[is] in his nostrils:º
forº
whereinº
is heº
to be accountedº
of?ºº |

2:22
Cease ye from man, whose breath [is] in his nostrils: for wherein is he to be accounted of? |
