Behold,º
a kingº
shall reignºº
in righteousness,º
and princesº
shall ruleºº
in judgment.º |

Behold, a king shall reign in righteousness, and princes shall rule in judgment. |

And a manº
shall beº
as an hiding placeº
from the wind,º
and a covertº
from the tempest;º
as riversº
of waterº
in a dry place,º
as the shadowº
of a greatº
rockº
in a wearyº
land.º |

32:2
And a man shall be as an hiding place from the wind, and a covert from the tempest; as rivers of water in a dry place, as the shadow of a great rock in a weary land. |

32:3
And the eyesº
of them that seeºº
shall notº
be dim,ºº
and the earsº
of them that hearºº
shall hearken.ºº |

32:3
And the eyes of them that see shall not be dim, and the ears of them that hear shall hearken. |

32:4
The heartº
also of the rashºº
shall understandºº
knowledge,ºº
and the tongueº
of the stammerersº
shall be readyºº
to speakºº
plainly.º |

32:4
The heart also of the rash shall understand knowledge, and the tongue of the stammerers shall be ready to speak plainly. |
|
32:5
The vile personº
shall be noº
moreº
calledºº
liberal,º
norº
the churlº
saidºº
[to be] bountiful.º |
|
32:5
The vile person shall be no more called liberal, nor the churl said [to be] bountiful. |
|
32:6
Forº
the vile personº
will speakºº
villany,º
and his heartº
will workºº
iniquity,º
to practiseºº
hypocrisy,º
and to utterºº
errorº
againstº
Yähwè
יָהוֶה,º
to make emptyºº
the soulº
of the hungry,º
and he will cause the drinkº
of the thirstyº
to fail.ºº |

For the vile person will speak villany, and his heart will work iniquity, to practise hypocrisy, and to utter error against Yahweh, to make empty the soul of the hungry, and he will cause the drink of the thirsty to fail. |

32:7
The instrumentsº
also of the churlº
[are] evil:º
heº
devisethºº
wicked devicesº
to destroyºº
the poorººº
with lyingº
words,º
even when the needyº
speakethºº
right.º |

32:7
The instruments also of the churl [are] evil: he deviseth wicked devices to destroy the poor with lying words, even when the needy speaketh right. |
|
32:8
But the liberalº
devisethºº
liberal things;º
and byº
liberal thingsº
shall he stand.ºº |
|
32:8
But the liberal deviseth liberal things; and by liberal things shall he stand. |

32:9 ¶
Rise up,ºº
ye womenº
that are at ease;º
hearºº
my voice,º
ye carelessºº
daughters;º
give earºº
unto my speech.º |

Rise up, ye women that are at ease; hear my voice, ye careless daughters; give ear unto my speech. |

Many daysº
and yearsº
shall ye be troubled,ºº
ye careless women:ºº
forº
the vintageº
shall fail,ºº
the gatheringº
shall notº
come.ºº |

Many days and years shall ye be troubled, ye careless women: for the vintage shall fail, the gathering shall not come. |

Tremble,ºº
ye women that are at ease;º
be troubled,ºº
ye careless ones:ºº
stripºº
you, and make you bare,ºº
and girdº
[sackcloth] uponº
[your] loins.º |

Tremble, ye women that are at ease; be troubled, ye careless ones: strip you, and make you bare, and gird [sackcloth] upon [your] loins. |

They shall lamentºº
forº
the teats,º
forº
the pleasantº
fields,º
forº
the fruitfulºº
vine.º |

32:12
They shall lament for the teats, for the pleasant fields, for the fruitful vine. |
|
32:13
Uponº
the landº
of my peopleº
shall come upºº
thornsº
[and] briers;º
yea,º
uponº
allº
the housesº
of joyº
[in] the joyousº
city:º |

32:13
Upon the land of my people shall come up thorns [and] briers; yea, upon all the houses of joy [in] the joyous city: |

32:14
Becauseº
the palacesº
shall be forsaken;ºº
the multitudeº
of the cityº
shall be left;ºº
the fortsº
and towersº
shall beº
forº
densº
forº
ever,ºº
a joyº
of wild asses,º
a pastureº
of flocks;º |

32:14
Because the palaces shall be forsaken; the multitude of the city shall be left; the forts and towers shall be for dens for ever, a joy of wild asses, a pasture of flocks; |

Untilº
the spiritº
be pouredºº
uponº
us from on high,ºº
and the wildernessº
beº
a fruitful field,º
and the fruitful fieldº
be countedºº
for a forest.º |

32:15
Until the spirit be poured upon us from on high, and the wilderness be a fruitful field, and the fruitful field be counted for a forest. |
|
32:16
Then judgmentº
shall dwellºº
in the wilderness,º
and righteousnessº
remainºº
in the fruitful field.º |
|
32:16
Then judgment shall dwell in the wilderness, and righteousness remain in the fruitful field. |
|
32:17
And the workº
of righteousnessº
shall beº
peace;º
and the effectº
of righteousnessº
quietnessºº
and assuranceº
forº
ever.ºº |

32:17
And the work of righteousness shall be peace; and the effect of righteousness quietness and assurance for ever. |

32:18
And my peopleº
shall dwellºº
in a peaceableº
habitation,º
and in sureº
dwellings,º
and in quietº
resting places;º |
|
32:18
And my people shall dwell in a peaceable habitation, and in sure dwellings, and in quiet resting places; |

32:19
When it shall hail,ºº
coming downºº
on the forest;º
and the cityº
shall be lowºº
in a low place.º |
|
32:19
When it shall hail, coming down on the forest; and the city shall be low in a low place. |
|
32:20
Blessedº
[are] ye that sowºº
besideº
allº
waters,º
that send forthºº
[thither] the feetº
of the oxº
and the ass.º |

32:20
Blessed [are] ye that sow beside all waters, that send forth [thither] the feet of the ox and the ass. |
