shortened,ºº
that it cannot save;ººº
neitherº
his earº
heavy,ºº
that it cannot hear:ººº |

Behold, Yahweh's hand is not shortened, that it cannot save; neither his ear heavy, that it cannot hear: |

Butºº
your iniquitiesº
haveº
separatedºº
betweenº
you and your
´Élöhîm
אֱלֹהִים,º
and your sinsº
have hidºº
[his] faceº
fromº
you, that he will not hear.ººº |
|
59:2
But your iniquities have separated between you and your Elohim, and your sins have hid [his] face from you, that he will not hear. |
|
59:3
Forº
your handsº
are defiledºº
with blood,º
and your fingersº
with iniquity;º
your lipsº
have spokenºº
lies,º
your tongueº
hath mutteredºº
perverseness.º |

59:3
For your hands are defiled with blood, and your fingers with iniquity; your lips have spoken lies, your tongue hath muttered perverseness. |

Noneº
callethºº
for justice,º
norº
[any] pleadethºº
for truth:º
they trustºº
inº
vanity,º
and speakºº
lies;º
they conceiveºº
mischief,º
and bring forthºº
iniquity.º |

59:4
None calleth for justice, nor [any] pleadeth for truth: they trust in vanity, and speak lies; they conceive mischief, and bring forth iniquity. |

They hatchºº
cockatrice'º
eggs,º
and weaveºº
the spider'sº
web:º
he that eatethºº
of their eggsºº
dieth,ºº
and that which is crushedº
breaketh outºº
into a viper.º |

59:5
They hatch cockatrice' eggs, and weave the spider's web: he that eateth of their eggs dieth, and that which is crushed breaketh out into a viper. |
|
59:6
Their websº
shall notº
becomeº
garments,º
neitherº
shall they coverºº
themselvesº
with their works:º
their worksº
[are] worksº
of iniquity,º
and the actº
of violenceº
[is] in their hands.º |

59:6
Their webs shall not become garments, neither shall they cover themselves with their works: their works [are] works of iniquity, and the act of violence [is] in their hands. |
|
59:7
Their feetº
runºº
to evil,º
and they make hasteºº
to shedºº
innocentº
blood:º
their thoughtsº
[are] thoughtsº
of iniquity;º
wastingº
and destructionº
[are] in their paths.º |
|
59:7
Their feet run to evil, and they make haste to shed innocent blood: their thoughts [are] thoughts of iniquity; wasting and destruction [are] in their paths. |
|
59:8
The wayº
of peaceº
they knowºº
not;º
and [there is] noº
judgmentº
in their goings:º
they have made them crookedºº
paths:º
whosoeverº
goethºº
therein shall notº
knowºº
peace.º |
|
59:8
The way of peace they know not; and [there is] no judgment in their goings: they have made them crooked paths: whosoever goeth therein shall not know peace. |
|
59:9 ¶
Thereforeºº
is judgmentº
farººº
fromº
us, neitherº
doth justiceº
overtakeºº
us: we waitºº
for light,º
but beholdº
obscurity;º
for brightness,º
[but] we walkºº
in darkness.º |

59:9 ¶
Therefore is judgment far from us, neither doth justice overtake us: we wait for light, but behold obscurity; for brightness, [but] we walk in darkness. |

59:10
We gropeºº
for the wallº
like the blind,º
and we gropeºº
as if [we had] noº
eyes:º
we stumbleºº
at noondayº
as in the night;º
[we are] in desolateº
placesº
as deadºº
[men]. |
|
59:10
We grope for the wall like the blind, and we grope as if [we had] no eyes: we stumble at noonday as in the night; [we are] in desolate places as dead [men]. |
|
59:11
We roarºº
allº
like bears,º
and mournºº
soreºº
like doves:º
we lookºº
for judgment,º
but [there is] none;º
for salvation,º
[but] it is far offºº
fromº
us. |

59:11
We roar all like bears, and mourn sore like doves: we look for judgment, but [there is] none; for salvation, [but] it is far off from us. |
|
59:12
Forº
our transgressionsº
are multipliedºº
beforeº
thee, and our sinsº
testifyºº
against us: forº
our transgressionsº
[are] withº
us; and [as for] our iniquities,º
we knowºº
them; |

59:12
For our transgressions are multiplied before thee, and our sins testify against us: for our transgressions [are] with us; and [as for] our iniquities, we know them; |

59:13
In transgressingºº
and lyingºº
against
Yähwè
יָהוֶה,º
and departing awayºº
fromºº
our
´Élöhîm
אֱלֹהִים,º
speakingºº
oppressionº
and revolt,º
conceivingºº
and utteringºº
from the heartºº
wordsº
of falsehood.º |

59:13
In transgressing and lying against Yahweh, and departing away from our Elohim, speaking oppression and revolt, conceiving and uttering from the heart words of falsehood. |
|
59:14
And judgmentº
is turned awayºº
backward,º
and justiceº
standethºº
afar off:ºº
forº
truthº
is fallenºº
in the street,º
and equityº
cannotººº
enter.ºº |
|
59:14
And judgment is turned away backward, and justice standeth afar off: for truth is fallen in the street, and equity cannot enter. |
|
59:15
Yea, truthº
faileth;ººº
and he [that] departethºº
from evilºº
maketh himself a prey:ºº
and
Yähwè
יָהוֶהº
sawºº
[it], and it displeasedºººº
him thatº
[there was] noº
judgment.º |
|
59:15
Yea, truth faileth; and he [that] departeth from evil maketh himself a prey: and Yahweh saw [it], and it displeased him that [there was] no judgment. |
|
59:16 ¶
And he sawºº
thatº
[there was] noº
man,º
and wonderedºº
thatº
[there was] noº
intercessor:ºº
therefore his armº
brought salvationºº
unto him; and his righteousness,º
itº
sustainedºº
him. |
|
59:16 ¶
And he saw that [there was] no man, and wondered that [there was] no intercessor: therefore his arm brought salvation unto him; and his righteousness, it sustained him. |
|
59:17
For he put onºº
righteousnessº
as a breastplate,º
and an helmetº
of salvationº
upon his head;º
and he put onºº
the garmentsº
of vengeanceº
[for] clothing,º
and was cladºº
with zealº
as a cloke.º |
|
59:17
For he put on righteousness as a breastplate, and an helmet of salvation upon his head; and he put on the garments of vengeance [for] clothing, and was clad with zeal as a cloke. |
|
59:18
Accordingº
toº
[their] deeds,º
accordinglyº
he will repay,ºº
furyº
to his adversaries,º
recompenceº
to his enemies;ºº
to the islandsº
he will repayºº
recompence.º |

59:18
According to [their] deeds, accordingly he will repay, fury to his adversaries, recompence to his enemies; to the islands he will repay recompence. |
|
59:19
So shall they fearººº
the nameº
of
Yähwè
יָהוֶהº
from the west,ºº
andº
his gloryº
from the risingºº
of the sun.º
Whenº
the enemyº
shall come inºº
like a flood,º
the Spiritº
of
Yähwè
יָהוֶהº
shall lift up a standardºº
against him. |

59:19
So shall they fear the name of Yahweh from the west, and his glory from the rising of the sun. When the enemy shall come in like a flood, the Spirit of Yahweh shall lift up a standard against him. |
|
59:20 ¶
And the Redeemerºº
shall comeºº
to
Xiyyôn
צִיּוֹן,º
and unto them that turnºº
fromº
transgressionº
in
Ya`áköv
יַעֲקֹב,º
saithºº
Yähwè
יָהוֶה.º |
|
59:20 ¶
And the Redeemer shall come to Tziyyon, and unto them that turn from transgression in Yaaqov, saith Yahweh. |
|
59:21
As for me,º
thisº
[is] my covenantº
withº
them, saithºº
Yähwè
יָהוֶה;º
My spiritº
thatº
[is] uponº
thee, and my wordsº
whichº
I have putºº
in thy mouth,º
shall notº
departºº
out of thy mouth,ºº
nor out of the mouthºº
of thy seed,º
nor out of the mouthºº
of thy seed'sº
seed,º
saithºº
Yähwè
יָהוֶה,º
from henceforthºº
and forº
ever.ºº |

As for me, this [is] my covenant with them, saith Yahweh; My spirit that [is] upon thee, and my words which I have put in thy mouth, shall not depart out of thy mouth, nor out of the mouth of thy seed, nor out of the mouth of thy seed's seed, saith Yahweh, from henceforth and for ever. |
