 50:1 ¶
Thusº
saithºº
Yähwè
יָהוֶה,º
Whereº
[is] the billº
of your mother'sº
divorcement,º
whomº
I have put away?ºº
orº
whichº
of my creditorsººº
[is it] to whomº
I have soldºº
you? Behold,º
for your iniquitiesº
have ye soldºº
yourselves,º
and for your transgressionsº
is your motherº
put away.ºº |
|
 50:1 ¶
Thus saith Yahweh, Where [is] the bill of your mother's divorcement, whom I have put away? or which of my creditors [is it] to whom I have sold you? Behold, for your iniquities have ye sold yourselves, and for your transgressions is your mother put away. |
 50:2
Wherefore,º
when I came,ºº
[was there] noº
man?º
when I called,ºº
[was there] noneº
to answer?ºº
Is my handº
shortenedºº
at all,ºº
that it cannot redeem?ºº
orº
have I noº
powerº
to deliver?ºº
behold,º
at my rebukeº
I dry upºº
the sea,º
I makeºº
the riversº
a wilderness:º
their fishº
stinketh,ºº
because [there is] noºº
water,º
and diethºº
for thirst.º |
|
 50:2
Wherefore, when I came, [was there] no man? when I called, [was there] none to answer? Is my hand shortened at all, that it cannot redeem? or have I no power to deliver? behold, at my rebuke I dry up the sea, I make the rivers a wilderness: their fish stinketh, because [there is] no water, and dieth for thirst. |
 50:3
I clotheºº
the heavensº
with blackness,º
and I makeºº
sackclothº
their covering.º |
|
 50:3
I clothe the heavens with blackness, and I make sackcloth their covering. |
 50:4
´Áðönäy
אֲדֹנָיº
Yähwè
יָהוֶהº
hath givenºº
me the tongueº
of the learned,º
that I should knowºº
how to speakºº
a wordº
in seasonºº
toº
[him that is] weary:º
he wakenethºº
morningº
by morning,º
he wakenethºº
mine earº
to hearºº
as the learned.º |
|
 50:4
Adonay Yahweh hath given me the tongue of the learned, that I should know how to speak a word in season to [him that is] weary: he wakeneth morning by morning, he wakeneth mine ear to hear as the learned. |
 50:5 ¶
´Áðönäy
אֲדֹנָיº
Yähwè
יָהוֶהº
hath openedºº
mine ear,º
and Iº
was notº
rebellious,ºº
neitherº
turned awayºº
back.º |
|
 50:5 ¶
Adonay Yahweh hath opened mine ear, and I was not rebellious, neither turned away back. |
 50:6
I gaveºº
my backº
to the smiters,ºº
and my cheeksº
to them that plucked offºº
the hair:º
I hidºº
notº
my faceº
from shameºº
and spitting.º |
|
 50:6
I gave my back to the smiters, and my cheeks to them that plucked off the hair: I hid not my face from shame and spitting. |
 50:7 ¶
For
´Áðönäy
אֲדֹנָיº
Yähwè
יָהוֶהº
will helpºº
me; thereforeºº
shall I notº
be confounded:ºº
thereforeºº
have I setºº
my faceº
like a flint,º
and I knowºº
thatº
I shall notº
be ashamed.ºº |
|
 50:7 ¶
For Adonay Yahweh will help me; therefore shall I not be confounded: therefore have I set my face like a flint, and I know that I shall not be ashamed. |
 50:8
[He is] nearº
that justifiethºº
me; whoº
will contendºº
withº
me? let us standºº
together:º
whoº
[is] mine adversary?ºº
let him come nearºº
toº
me. |
|
 50:8
[He is] near that justifieth me; who will contend with me? let us stand together: who [is] mine adversary? let him come near to me. |
 50:9
Behold,º
´Áðönäy
אֲדֹנָיº
Yähwè
יָהוֶהº
will helpºº
me; whoº
[is] heº
[that] shall condemnºº
me? lo,º
they allº
shall wax oldºº
as a garment;º
the mothº
shall eat them up.ºº |
|
 50:9
Behold, Adonay Yahweh will help me; who [is] he [that] shall condemn me? lo, they all shall wax old as a garment; the moth shall eat them up. |
 50:10 ¶
Whoº
[is] among you that fearethº
Yähwè
יָהוֶה,º
that obeyethºº
the voiceº
of his servant,º
thatº
walkethºº
[in] darkness,º
and hath noº
light?º
let him trustºº
in the nameº
of
Yähwè
יָהוֶה,º
and stayºº
upon his
´Élöhîm
אֱלֹהִים.º |
|
 50:10 ¶
Who [is] among you that feareth Yahweh, that obeyeth the voice of his servant, that walketh [in] darkness, and hath no light? let him trust in the name of Yahweh, and stay upon his Elohim. |
 50:11
Behold,º
allº
ye that kindleºº
a fire,º
that compass [yourselves] aboutºº
with sparks:º
walkººº
in the lightº
of your fire,º
and in the sparksº
[that] ye have kindled.ºº
Thisº
shall ye haveº
of mine hand;ºº
ye shall lie downºº
in sorrow.º |
|
 50:11
Behold, all ye that kindle a fire, that compass [yourselves] about with sparks: walk in the light of your fire, and in the sparks [that] ye have kindled. This shall ye have of mine hand; ye shall lie down in sorrow. |
