Set thine houseº
in order:ººº
forº
thouº
shalt die,ºº
and notº

In those days was Chizqiyyah sick unto death. And Yeshayah the prophet the son of Amotz came unto him, and said unto him, Thus saith Yahweh, Set thine house in order: for thou shalt die, and not live. |

Then Chizqiyyah turned his face toward the wall, and prayed unto Yahweh, |

And said,ºº
Rememberºº
now,º
O
Yähwè
יָהוֶה,º
I beseechº
thee,ºº
howº
I have walkedºº
beforeº
thee in truthº
and with a perfectº
heart,º
and have doneºº
[that which is] goodº
in thy sight.º
And
Çizkiyyà
חִזקִיָּהº
weptººº
sore.ºº |

And said, Remember now, O Yahweh, I beseech thee, how I have walked before thee in truth and with a perfect heart, and have done [that which is] good in thy sight. And Chizqiyyah wept sore. |

the wordº

יְשַׁעיָה,º
saying,ºº |

Then came the word of Yahweh to Yeshayah, saying, |

Go,ºº
and sayºº
toº
Çizkiyyà
חִזקִיָּה,º
Thusº
saithºº
Yähwè
יָהוֶה,º
the
´Élöhîm
אֱלֹהִיםº
of
Däwið
דָּוִדº
thy father,º
I have heardººº
thy prayer,º
I have seenººº
thy tears:º
behold,º
I will addºº
untoº
thy daysº
fifteenºº
years.º |

Go, and say to Chizqiyyah, Thus saith Yahweh, the Elohim of Dawid thy father, I have heard thy prayer, I have seen thy tears: behold, I will add unto thy days fifteen years. |

And I will deliverºº
thee and thisº
cityº
out of the handºº
of the kingº
of
´Aššûr
אַשּׁוּר:º
and I will defendººº
thisº
city.º |

And I will deliver thee and this city out of the hand of the king of Ashshur: and I will defend this city. |

And thisº
[shall be] a signº
unto thee fromºº
Yähwè
יָהוֶה,º
thatº
Yähwè

thingº
thatº
he hath spoken;ºº |

And this [shall be] a sign unto thee from Yahweh, that Yahweh will do this thing that he hath spoken; |

I will bring againººº
the shadowº
of the degrees,º
whichº
is gone downºº
in the sunº
dialº
of
´Äçäz
אָחָז,º
tenº
degreesº
backward.º
So the sunº
returnedºº
tenº
degrees,º
by whichº
degreesº
it was gone down.ºº |

Behold, I will bring again the shadow of the degrees, which is gone down in the sun dial of Achaz, ten degrees backward. So the sun returned ten degrees, by which degrees it was gone down. |

of the residueº

I said in the cutting off of my days, I shall go to the gates of the grave: I am deprived of the residue of my years. |

I shall beholdºº

moreº

the inhabitantsºº

I said, I shall not see Yah, [even] Yah, in the land of the living: I shall behold man no more with the inhabitants of the world. |

Mine ageº
is departed,ºº
and is removedºº
fromº
me as a shepherd'sº
tent:º
I have cut offºº
like a weaverºº
my life:º
he will cut me offºº
with pining sickness:ºº
from dayºº
[even] toº
nightº
wilt thou make an endºº
of me. |

Mine age is departed, and is removed from me as a shepherd's tent: I have cut off like a weaver my life: he will cut me off with pining sickness: from day [even] to night wilt thou make an end of me. |

I reckonedºº

morning,º
[that], as a lion,º
soº
will he breakºº
allº
my bones:º
from dayºº
[even] toº
nightº
wilt thou make an endºº
of me. |

I reckoned till morning, [that], as a lion, so will he break all my bones: from day [even] to night wilt thou make an end of me. |

Like a craneº
[or] a swallow,º
soº
did I chatter:ºº
I did mournºº
as a dove:º
mine eyesº
failºº
[with looking] upward:º

I am oppressed;º
undertakeººº
for me. |

Like a crane [or] a swallow, so did I chatter: I did mourn as a dove: mine eyes fail [with looking] upward: O Yahweh, I am oppressed; undertake for me. |

Whatº
shall I say?ºº
he hath both spokenºº
unto me, and himselfº
hath doneºº
[it]: I shall go softlyºº
allº
my yearsº
inº
the bitternessº
of my soul.º |

What shall I say? he hath both spoken unto me, and himself hath done [it]: I shall go softly all my years in the bitterness of my soul. |

Yähwè
יָהוֶה,º

these [things men] live,ºº
and in allº
theseº
[things is] the lifeº
of my spirit:º
so wilt thou recoverºº
me, and make me to live.ºº |

O Yahweh, by these [things men] live, and in all these [things is] the life of my spirit: so wilt thou recover me, and make me to live. |

Behold,º
for peaceº
I had great bitterness:ººº
but thouº
hast in loveºº
to my soulº
[delivered it] from the pitºº
of corruption:º
forº
thou hast castºº
allº
my sinsº
behindº
thy back.º |

Behold, for peace I had great bitterness: but thou hast in love to my soul [delivered it] from the pit of corruption: for thou hast cast all my sins behind thy back. |

For the grave cannot praise thee, death can [not] celebrate thee: they that go down into the pit cannot hope for thy truth. |

The living,º
the living,º

thee, as I [do] this day:º
the fatherº
to the childrenº
shall make knownººº
thy truth.º |

The living, the living, he shall praise thee, as I [do] this day: the father to the children shall make known thy truth. |

Yahweh [was ready] to save me: therefore we will sing my songs to the stringed instruments all the days of our life in the house of Yahweh. |

Let them takeºº
a lumpº
of figs,º
and lay [it] for a plaisterºº
uponº
the boil,º
and he shall recover.ºº |

For Yeshayah had said, Let them take a lump of figs, and lay [it] for a plaister upon the boil, and he shall recover. |
