1 The psalmist exhorteth to praise God. 4 He prayeth for pardon of sin, as God did with the fathers. 7 The story of the people's rebellion, and God's mercy. 47 He concludeth with prayer and praise.
106:1
Praise 1984b the LORD 3050! Oh give 3034 thanks 3034 to the LORD 3068, for He is good 2896a; For His lovingkindness 2617a is everlasting 5769.
106:2
Who 4310 can speak 4448a of the mighty 1369 deeds 1369 of the LORD 3068, Or can show 8085 forth all 3605 His praise 8416?
106:3
How blessed 835 are those who keep 8104 justice 4941, Who practice 6213a righteousness 6666 at all 3605 times 6256!
106:4
¶ Remember 2142 me, O LORD 3068, in [Your] favor 7522 toward Your people 5971a; Visit 6485 me with Your salvation 3444,
106:5
That I may see 7200 the prosperity 2899b of Your chosen 972 ones 972, That I may rejoice 8055 in the gladness 8057 of Your nation 1471, That I may glory 1984b with Your inheritance 5159.

¶ We have sinned 2398 like 5973 our fathers 1, We have committed 5753b iniquity 5753b, we have behaved 7561 wickedly 7561.
106:7
Our fathers 1 in Egypt 4714 did not understand 7919a Your wonders 6381; They did not remember 2142 Your abundant 7230 kindnesses 2617a, But rebelled 4784 by the sea 3220, at the Red 5488 3220 Sea 3220.
106:8
Nevertheless He saved 3467 them for the sake 4616 of His name 8034, That He might make 3045 His power 1369 known 3045.
106:9
Thus He rebuked 1605 the Red 5488 3220 Sea 3220 and it dried 2717a up, And He led 1980 them through the deeps 8415, as through the wilderness 4057b.
106:10
So He saved 3467 them from the hand 3027 of the one who hated 8130 [them], And redeemed 1350 them from the hand 3027 of the enemy 340.

The waters 4325 covered 3680 their adversaries 6862c; Not one 259 of them was left 3498.

Then they believed 539 His words 1697; They sang 7891 His praise 8416.

¶ They quickly 4116 forgot 7911 His works 4639; They did not wait 2442 for His counsel 6098,

But craved 183 intensely 8378 in the wilderness 4057b, And tempted 5254 God 410 in the desert 3452.

So He gave 5414 them their request 7596, But sent 7971 a wasting 7332 disease 7332 among them.

¶ When they became 7065 envious 7065 of Moses 4872 in the camp 4264, And of Aaron 175, the holy 6918 one 6918 of the LORD 3068,

The earth 776 opened 6605a and swallowed 1104 up Dathan 1885, And engulfed 3680 the company 5712 of Abiram 48.

And a fire 784 blazed 1197a up in their company 5712; The flame 3852 consumed 3857 the wicked 7563.

¶ They made 6213a a calf 5695 in Horeb 2722 And worshiped 7812 a molten 4541a image 4541a.

Thus they exchanged 4171 their glory 3519b For the image 8403 of an ox 7794 that eats 398 grass 6212a.

They forgot 7911 God 410 their Savior 3467, Who had done 6213a great 1419 things 1419 in Egypt 4714,

Wonders 6381 in the land 776 of Ham 2526 [And] awesome 3372a things by the Red 5488 3220 Sea 3220.

Therefore He said 559 that He would destroy 8045 them, Had not Moses 4872 His chosen 972 one stood 5975 in the breach 6556 before 6440 Him, To turn 7725 away 7725 His wrath 2534 from destroying 7843 [them].

Then they despised 3988a the pleasant 2532 land 776; They did not believe 539 in His word 1697,

But grumbled 7279 in their tents 168; They did not listen 8085 to the voice 6963 of the LORD 3068.

Therefore He swore 5375 3027 to them That He would cast 5307 them down 5307 in the wilderness 4057b,

And that He would cast 5307 their seed 2233 among the nations 1471 And scatter 2219 them in the lands 776.
106:28
¶ They joined 6775 themselves also to Baal-peor 1187, And ate 398 sacrifices 2077 offered to the dead 4191.
106:29
Thus they provoked 3707 [Him] to anger 3707 with their deeds 4611, And the plague 4046 broke 6555 out among them.
106:30
Then Phinehas 6372 stood 5975 up and interposed 6419, And so the plague 4046 was stayed 6113.

And it was reckoned 2803 to him for righteousness 6666, To all 1755 generations 1755 forever 5704 5769.

¶ They also provoked 7107 [Him] to wrath 7107 at the waters 4325 of Meribah 4809, So that it went 7489a hard 7489a with Moses 4872 on their account 5668;

Because 3588 they were rebellious 4784 against 854 His Spirit 7307, He spoke 981 rashly 981 with his lips 8193.

¶ They did not destroy 8045 the peoples 5971a, As the LORD 3068 commanded 559 them,

But they mingled 6148 with the nations 1471 And learned 3925 their practices 4639,
106:36
And served 5647 their idols 6091, Which became 1961 a snare 4170 to them.
106:37
They even sacrificed 2076 their sons 1121 and their daughters 1323 to the demons 7700,
106:38
And shed 8210 innocent 5355a blood 1818, The blood 1818 of their sons 1121 and their daughters 1323, Whom 834 they sacrificed 2076 to the idols 6091 of Canaan 3667a; And the land 776 was polluted 2610 with the blood 1818.

Thus they became 2930 unclean 2930 in their practices 4639, And played 2181 the harlot 2181 in their deeds 4611.
106:40
¶ Therefore the anger 639 of the LORD 3068 was kindled 2734 against His people 5971a And He abhorred 8581 His inheritance 5159.
106:41
Then He gave 5414 them into the hand 3027 of the nations 1471, And those 1992a who hated 8130 them ruled 4910 over them.
106:42
Their enemies 340 also oppressed 3905 them, And they were subdued 3665 under 8478 their power 3027.
106:43
Many 7227a times 6471 He would deliver 5337 them; They, however, were rebellious 4784 in their counsel 6098, And [so] sank 4355 down 4355 in their iniquity 5771.
106:44
¶ Nevertheless He looked 7200 upon their distress 6862b When He heard 8085 their cry 7440;
106:45
And He remembered 2142 His covenant 1285 for their sake, And relented 5162 according to the greatness 7230 of His lovingkindness 2617a.
106:46
He also made 5414 them [objects] of compassion 7356 In the presence 6440 of all 3605 their captors 7617.
106:47
¶ Save 3467 us, O LORD 3068 our God 430, And gather 6908 us from among the nations 1471, To give 3034 thanks 3034 to Your holy 6944 name 8034 And glory 7623b in Your praise 8416.

Blessed 1288 be the LORD 3068, the God 430 of Israel 3478, From everlasting 5769 even to everlasting 5769. And let all 3605 the people 5971a say 559, “Amen 543.” Praise 1984b the LORD 3050!
