Psalms 56

1 David, praying to God in confidence of his Word, complaineth of his enemies. 9 He professeth his confidence in God's Word, and promiseth to praise him.

 56:1 [[For the choir director; according to Jonath elem rehokim. A Mikhtam of David, when the Philistines seized him in Gath.]] Be gracious 2603a to me, O God 430, for man 582 has trampled 7602b upon me; Fighting 3898a all 3605 day 3117 long he oppresses 3905 me.

 56:2 My foes 7796b have trampled 7602b upon me all 3605 day 3117 long, For they are many 7227a who fight 3898a proudly 4791 against me.

 56:3 When 3117 I am afraid 3372a, I will put 982 my trust 982 in You.

 56:4 In God 430, whose word 1697 I praise 1984b, In God 430 I have put 982 my trust 982; I shall not be afraid 3372a. What 4100 can [mere] man 1320 do 6213a to me?

 56:5 All 3605 day 3117 long they distort 6087a my words 1697; All 3605 their thoughts 4284 are against 5921 me for evil 7451b.

 56:6 They attack 1481b, they lurk 6845, They watch 8104 my steps 6119, As they have waited 6960a [to take] my life 5315.

 56:7 Because 5921 of wickedness 205, cast 6405 them forth 6405, In anger 639 put 3381 down 3381 the peoples 5971a, O God 430!

 56:8 ¶ You have taken 5608 account 5608 of my wanderings 5112; Put 7760 my tears 1832 in Your bottle 4997. Are [they] not in Your book 5613c?

 56:9 Then 227 my enemies 340 will turn 7725 back 268 in the day 3117 when I call 7121; This 2088 I know 3045, that God 430 is for me.

 56:10 In God 430, [whose] word 1697 I praise 1984b, In the LORD 3068, [whose] word 1697 I praise 1984b,

 56:11 In God 430 I have put 982 my trust 982, I shall not be afraid 3372a. What 4100 can man 120 do 6213a to me?

 56:12 Your vows 5088 are [binding] upon me, O God 430; I will render 7999a thank 8426 offerings 8426 to You.

 56:13 For You have delivered 5337 my soul 5315 from death 4194, Indeed 3808 my feet 7272 from stumbling 1762, So that I may walk 1980 before 6440 God 430 In the light 216 of the living 2416a.
