Psalms 71

1 David, in confidence of faith, and experience of God's favour, prayeth both for himself, and against the enemies of his soul. 14 He promiseth constancy. 17 He prayeth for perserverance. 19 He praiseth God, and promiseth to do it cheerfully.

 71:1 In You, O LORD 3068, I have taken 2620 refuge 2620; Let me never 408 5769 be ashamed 954.

 71:2 In Your righteousness 6666 deliver 5337 me and rescue 6403 me; Incline 5186 Your ear 241 to me and save 3467 me.

 71:3 Be to me a rock 6697 of habitation 4583 to which I may continually 8548 come 935; You have given 6680 commandment 6680 to save 3467 me, For You are my rock 5553 and my fortress 4686b.

 71:4 Rescue 6403 me, O my God 430, out of the hand 3027 of the wicked 7563, Out of the grasp 3709 of the wrongdoer 5765 and ruthless 2556c man 2556c,

 71:5 For You are my hope 8615b; O Lord 136 GOD 3068, [You are] my confidence 4009 from my youth 5271.

 71:6 By You I have been sustained 5564 from [my] birth 990; You are He who took 1491 me from my mother’s 517 womb 990; My praise 8416 is continually 8548 of You.

 71:7 ¶ I have become 1961 a marvel 4159 to many 7227a, For You are my strong 5797 refuge 4268.

 71:8 My mouth 6310 is filled 4390 with Your praise 8416 And with Your glory 8597 all 3605 day 3117 long.

 71:9 Do not cast 7993 me off 7993 in the time 6256 of old 2209 age 2209; Do not forsake 5800a me when my strength 3581b fails 3615.

 71:10 For my enemies 340 have spoken 559 against me; And those who watch 8104 for my life 5315 have consulted 3289 together 3164a,

 71:11 Saying 559, “God 430 has forsaken 5800a him; Pursue 7291 and seize 8610 him, for there 369 is no 369 one 369 to deliver 5337.”

 71:12 ¶ O God 430, do not be far 7368 from me; O my God 430, hasten 2363a to my help 5833!

 71:13 Let those who are adversaries 7853 of my soul 5315 be ashamed 954 [and] consumed 3615; Let them be covered 5844a with reproach 2781 and dishonor 3639, who seek 1245 to injure 7463a me.

 71:14 But as for me, I will hope 3176 continually 8548, And will praise 8416 You yet 3254 more 3254 and more 3254.

 71:15 My mouth 6310 shall tell 5608 of Your righteousness 6666 [And] of Your salvation 8668 all 3605 day 3117 long; For I do not know 3045 the sum 5615 [of them].

 71:16 I will come 935 with the mighty 1369 deeds 1369 of the Lord 136 GOD 3068; I will make 2142 mention 2142 of Your righteousness 6666, Yours alone 905.

 71:17 ¶ O God 430, You have taught 3925 me from my youth 5271, And I still 5704 2008 declare 5046 Your wondrous 6381 deeds 6381.

 71:18 And even 1571 when 5704 [I am] old 2209 and gray 7872, O God 430, do not forsake 5800a me, Until 5704 I declare 5046 Your strength 2220 to [this] generation 1755, Your power 1369 to all 3605 who are to come 935.

 71:19 For Your righteousness 6666, O God 430, [reaches] to the heavens 4791, You who 834 have done 6213a great 1419 things 1419; O God 430, who 4310 is like 3644 You?

 71:20 You who 834 have shown 7200 me many 7227a troubles 6869a and distresses 7463a Will revive 2421a me again 7725, And will bring 5927 me up again 7725 from the depths 8415 of the earth 776.

 71:21 May You increase 7235a my greatness 1420 And turn 5437 [to] comfort 5162 me.

 71:22 ¶ I will also 1571 praise 3034 You with a harp 5035b, [Even] Your truth 571, O my God 430; To You I will sing 2167 praises 2167 with the lyre 3658, O Holy 6918 One 6918 of Israel 3478.

 71:23 My lips 8193 will shout 7442 for joy 7442 when 3588 I sing 2167 praises 2167 to You; And my soul 5315, which 834 You have redeemed 6299.

 71:24 My tongue 3956 also 1571 will utter 1897 Your righteousness 6666 all 3605 day 3117 long; For they are ashamed 954, for they are humiliated 2659 who seek 1245 my hurt 7463a.
