1 David praiseth God for his allseeing providence, 17 and for his infinite mercies. 19 He defieth the wicked. 23 He prayeth for sincerety.

[[For the choir director. A Psalm of David.]] O LORD 3068, You have searched 2713 me and known 3045 [me].

You know 3045 when I sit 3427 down 3427 and when I rise 6965 up; You understand 995 my thought 7454 from afar 7350.

You scrutinize 2219 my path 734 and my lying 7250 down 7250, And are intimately 5532a acquainted 5532a with all 3605 my ways 1870.

Even before there 369 is a word 4405 on my tongue 3956, Behold 2005, O LORD 3068, You know 3045 it all 3605.

You have enclosed 6696a me behind 268 and before 6924a, And laid 7896 Your hand 3709 upon me.

[Such] knowledge 1847 is too 4480 wonderful 6383 for me; It is [too] high 7682, I cannot 3201 3808 attain to it.

¶ Where 575 can I go 1980 from Your Spirit 7307? Or where 575 can I flee 1272 from Your presence 6440?

If 518 I ascend 5559a to heaven 8064, You are there 8033; If I make 3331 my bed 3331 in Sheol 7585, behold 2009, You are there.

If I take 5375 the wings 3671 of the dawn 7837, If I dwell 7931 in the remotest 319 part 319 of the sea 3220,

Even 1571 there 8033 Your hand 3027 will lead 5148 me, And Your right 3225 hand 3225 will lay 270 hold 270 of me.

If I say 559, “Surely 389 the darkness 2822 will overwhelm 7779 me, And the light 216 around 1157 me will be night 3915,”

Even 1571 the darkness 2822 is not dark 2821 to You, And the night 3915 is as bright 215 as the day 3117. Darkness 2825 and light 219a are alike [to You].

¶ For You formed 7069 my inward 3629 parts 3629; You wove 5526b me in my mother’s 517 womb 990.

I will give 3034 thanks 3034 to You, for I am fearfully 3372a and wonderfully 6395 made; Wonderful 6381 are Your works 4639, And my soul 5315 knows 3045 it very 3966 well 3966.

My frame 6108 was not hidden 3582 from You, When 834 I was made 6213a in secret 5643a, [And] skillfully 7551 wrought 7551 in the depths 8482 of the earth 776;

Your eyes 5869 have seen 7200 my unformed 1564 substance 1564; And in Your book 5612 were all 3605 written 3789 The days 3117 that were ordained 3335 [for me], When as yet there was not one 259 of them.

¶ How 4100 precious 3365 also are Your thoughts 7454 to me, O God 410! How 4100 vast 6105a is the sum 7218 of them!

If I should count 5608 them, they would outnumber 7235a the sand 2344. When I awake 7019a, I am still 5750 with You.

¶ O 518 that You would slay 6991 the wicked 7563, O God 433; Depart 5493 from me, therefore, men 376 of bloodshed 1818.

For they speak 559 against You wickedly 4209, And Your enemies 6145 take 5375 [Your name] in vain 7723.

Do I not hate 8130 those who hate 8130 You, O LORD 3068? And do I not loathe 6962a those who rise 6965 up against You?

I hate 8130 them with the utmost 8503 hatred 8135; They have become 1961 my enemies 340.
