Psalms 38

David moveth God to take compassion of his pitiful case.

 38:1 [[A Psalm of David, for a memorial.]] O LORD 3068, rebuke 3198 me not in Your wrath 7110a, And chasten 3256 me not in Your burning 2534 anger 2534.

 38:2 For Your arrows 2671 have sunk 5181 deep 5181 into me, And Your hand 3027 has pressed 5181 down 5181 on me.

 38:3 There 369 is no 369 soundness 4974 in my flesh 1320 because 4480 6440 of Your indignation 2195; There 369 is no 369 health 7965 in my bones 6106 because 4480 6440 of my sin 2403b.

 38:4 For my iniquities 5771 are gone 5674a over 5674a my head 7218; As a heavy 3515 burden 4853a they weigh 3513 too 4480 much 3515 for me.

 38:5 My wounds 2250 grow 887 foul 887 [and] fester 4743 Because 4480 6440 of my folly 200.

 38:6 I am bent 5753a over and greatly 3966 bowed 7817 down 7817; I go 1980 mourning 6937 all 3605 day 3117 long.

 38:7 For my loins 3689 are filled 4390 with burning 7033, And there 369 is no 369 soundness 4974 in my flesh 1320.

 38:8 I am benumbed 6313 and badly 3966 crushed 1794; I groan 7580 because 4480 of the agitation 5100 of my heart 3820.

 38:9 ¶ Lord 136, all 3605 my desire 8378 is before 5048 You; And my sighing 585 is not hidden 5641 from You.

 38:10 My heart 3820 throbs 5503, my strength 3581b fails 5800a me; And the light 216 of my eyes 5869, even 1571 that has gone 369 from me.

 38:11 My loved 157 ones and my friends 7453 stand 5975 aloof 4480 5048 from my plague 5061; And my kinsmen 7138 stand 5975 afar 7350 off.

 38:12 Those who seek 1245 my life 5315 lay 5367 snares 5367 [for me]; And those who seek 1875 to injure 7463a me have threatened 1696 destruction 1942, And they devise 1897 treachery 4820 all 3605 day 3117 long.

 38:13 ¶ But I, like a deaf 2795 man 2795, do not hear 8085; And [I am] like a mute 483 man 483 who does not open 6605a his mouth 6310.

 38:14 Yes, I am like a man 376 who 834 does not hear 8085, And in whose mouth 6310 are no 369 arguments 8433b.

 38:15 For I hope 3176 in You, O LORD 3068; You will answer 6030a, O Lord 136 my God 430.

 38:16 For I said 559, “May they not rejoice 8055 over me, [Who], when my foot 7272 slips 4131, would magnify 1431 themselves against 5921 me.”

 38:17 For I am ready 3559 to fall 6761, And my sorrow 4341 is continually 8548 before 5048 me.

 38:18 For I confess 5046 my iniquity 5771; I am full 1672 of anxiety 1672 because 4480 of my sin 2403b.

 38:19 But my enemies 340 are vigorous 2416a [and] strong 6105a, And many 7231 are those who hate 8130 me wrongfully 8267.

 38:20 And those who repay 7999a evil 7463a for good 2899b, They oppose 7853 me, because 8478 I follow 7291 what 2896b is good 2896b.

 38:21 Do not forsake 5800a me, O LORD 3068; O my God 430, do not be far 7368 from me!

 38:22 Make 2363a haste 2363a to help 5833 me, O Lord 136, my salvation 8668!
