1 David prayeth for audience. 2 He reproveth and exhorteth his enemies. 6 Man's happiness is in God's favour.

 4:1 [[For the choir director; on stringed instruments. A Psalm of David.]] Answer 6030a me when I call 7121, O God 430 of my righteousness 6664! You have relieved 7337 me in my distress 6862b; Be gracious 2603a to me and hear 8085 my prayer 8605.

 4:2 ¶ O sons 1121 of men 376, how 4100 long 5704 will my honor 3519b become a reproach 3639? [How long] will you love 157 what 7385b is worthless 7385b and aim 1245 at deception 3577? Selah 5542.

 4:3 But know 3045 that the LORD 3068 has set 6395 apart 6395 the godly 2623 man 2623 for Himself; The LORD 3068 hears 8085 when I call 7121 to Him.

 4:4 ¶ Tremble 7264, and do not sin 2398; Meditate 559 in your heart 3824 upon your bed 4904, and be still 1826a. Selah 5542.

 4:5 Offer 2076 the sacrifices 2077 of righteousness 6664, And trust 982 in the LORD 3068.

 4:6 ¶ Many 7227a are saying 559, “Who 4310 will show 7200 us [any] good 2896b?” Lift 5375 up the light 216 of Your countenance 6440 upon us, O LORD 3068!

 4:7 You have put 5414 gladness 8057 in my heart 3820, More 4480 than 4480 when 6256 their grain 1715 and new 8492 wine 8492 abound 7231.

 4:8 In peace 7965 I will both 3162 lie 7901 down 7901 and sleep 3462, For You alone 910, O LORD 3068, make me to dwell 3427 in safety 983.
