[is] my lightº
and my salvation;º

shall I fear?ºº

of my life;º

[[[A Psalm] of Dawid.]] Yahweh [is] my light and my salvation; whom shall I fear? Yahweh [is] the strength of my life; of whom shall I be afraid? |

When the wicked,ºº
[even] mine enemiesº
and my foes,ºº
cameºº
uponº
me to eat upººº
my flesh,º
theyº
stumbledºº
and fell.ºº |

When the wicked, [even] mine enemies and my foes, came upon me to eat up my flesh, they stumbled and fell. |

Thoughº
an hostº
should encampºº
againstº
me, my heartº
shall notº
fear:ºº
thoughº
warº
should riseºº
againstº
me, in thisº
[will] Iº
[be] confident.ºº |

Though an host should encamp against me, my heart shall not fear: though war should rise against me, in this [will] I [be] confident. |

Oneº
[thing] have I desiredºº

יָהוֶה,º
that will I seekºº
after;º
that I may dwellºº
in the houseº
of
Yähwè
יָהוֶהº
allº
the daysº
of my life,º
to beholdºº
the beautyº
of
Yähwè
יָהוֶה,º
and to enquireºº
in his temple.º |

One [thing] have I desired of Yahweh, that will I seek after; that I may dwell in the house of Yahweh all the days of my life, to behold the beauty of Yahweh, and to enquire in his temple. |

27:5
Forº
in the timeº
of troubleº
he shall hideºº
me in his pavilion:º
in the secretº
of his tabernacleº
shall he hideºº
me; he shall set me upºº
upon a rock.º |

27:5
For in the time of trouble he shall hide me in his pavilion: in the secret of his tabernacle shall he hide me; he shall set me up upon a rock. |

And nowº
shall mine headº
be lifted upºº
aboveº
mine enemiesºº
round aboutº
me: therefore will I offerºº
in his tabernacleº
sacrificesº
of joy;º
I will sing,ºº
yea, I will sing praisesºº
unto
Yähwè
יָהוֶה.º |

And now shall mine head be lifted up above mine enemies round about me: therefore will I offer in his tabernacle sacrifices of joy; I will sing, yea, I will sing praises unto Yahweh. |

Yähwè
יָהוֶה,º
[when] I cryºº
with my voice:º
have mercyºº
also upon me, and answerºº
me. |

Hear, O Yahweh, [when] I cry with my voice: have mercy also upon me, and answer me. |

[When thou saidst], Seekºº
ye my face;º
my heartº
saidºº
unto thee,º
Thy face,º
Yähwè
יָהוֶה,º
will I seek.ºº |

[When thou saidst], Seek ye my face; my heart said unto thee, Thy face, Yahweh, will I seek. |

thy faceº
[far] fromº
me; putºº
not thy servantº
awayºººº
in anger:º
thou hast beenº
my help;º
leaveºº
me not,º
neitherº
forsakeºº
me, O
´Élöhîm
אֱלֹהִיםº
of my salvation.º |

Hide not thy face [far] from me; put not thy servant away in anger: thou hast been my help; leave me not, neither forsake me, O Elohim of my salvation. |

Whenº
my fatherº
and my motherº
forsakeºº
me, then
Yähwè
יָהוֶהº
will take me up.ºº |

When my father and my mother forsake me, then Yahweh will take me up. |

Teachºº
me thy way,º
O
Yähwè
יָהוֶה,º
and leadºº
me in a plainº
path,º
because ofº
mine enemies.ºº |

Teach me thy way, O Yahweh, and lead me in a plain path, because of mine enemies. |

Deliverºº
me notº
over unto the willº
of mine enemies:º
forº
falseº
witnessesº
are risen upºº
against me, and such as breathe outº
cruelty.º |

Deliver me not over unto the will of mine enemies: for false witnesses are risen up against me, and such as breathe out cruelty. |

[I had fainted], unlessº
I had believedºº
to seeºº
the goodnessº
of
Yähwè
יָהוֶהº
in the landº
of the living.º |

27:13
[I had fainted], unless I had believed to see the goodness of Yahweh in the land of the living. |

Waitºº

Yähwè
יָהוֶה:º
be of good courage,ºº
and he shall strengthenºº
thine heart:º
wait,ºº
I say, onº
Yähwè
יָהוֶה.º |

Wait on Yahweh: be of good courage, and he shall strengthen thine heart: wait, I say, on Yahweh. |
